Terms of Use

Effective September 10, 2026

These Terms of Use form a binding agreement between each person accessing or using this website or its related interface (the “User”) and the person or persons operating the interface (the “Operator”). By accessing the interface, connecting a wallet, requesting a quote, signing or broadcasting a transaction, or otherwise using any function, the User confirms that the User has read, understood and accepted these Terms and the separate Risk Disclosure and Privacy Notice.

If the User does not accept every applicable provision, the User must not connect a wallet, sign a transaction, send $BTC or $ORDI, or otherwise use the interface.

1. Experimental purpose and status

leaf (đŸŒ±) is an experimental proof of concept intended to demonstrate technical capabilities available directly on Bitcoin L1, including CRC-20 token distribution and on-chain transaction processing. The interface, indexer, quote logic, transaction templates and associated software remain experimental and may contain defects, omissions or incompatibilities.

The use of the term “ICO” describes the protocol’s initial on-chain token distribution and does not, by itself, determine the legal classification of $leaf or of any transaction. Applicable authorities may characterize the arrangement differently according to its facts and the User’s jurisdiction.

2. Limited subject matter; no additional promise

Subject to a valid transaction being recognized by the Bitcoin network and the indexer under the protocol rules, the only item a participating User may receive is the corresponding amount of the CRC-20 token $leaf. Sending $BTC or transferring $ORDI creates no promise of, or entitlement to, any other asset, product, service, ownership interest, equity, debt, revenue share, dividend, governance right, intellectual-property right, redemption right, refund, yield, profit, future utility, listing, liquidity, support or continuing development.

No statement on the website, in source code, on social media or in community communications modifies that limitation unless it is incorporated into a written instrument expressly executed by the Operator and legally valid under the applicable law.

3. Eligibility and legal compliance

The User represents that the User has legal capacity, has reached the age of majority, is acting for the User’s own account or under valid authority, and is not prohibited from using the interface by sanctions, export controls, financial-services restrictions or any other applicable rule. The User must not use the interface from or for the benefit of a person or territory where participation would be unlawful.

The User alone must determine whether acquiring, holding, transferring or disposing of $leaf, $ORDI or $BTC is lawful and whether registration, disclosure, licensing, reporting, consumer-protection, anti-money-laundering or tax obligations apply. Technical access does not constitute a representation that access is lawful in any jurisdiction.

4. Non-custodial participation and transaction authorization

The interface is non-custodial. The User selects a compatible wallet and independently authorizes the signing and direct broadcast of a Bitcoin mainnet transaction. The Operator does not request or control the User’s seed phrase or private keys and cannot reverse, cancel or modify a transaction after broadcast.

Before signing, the User must independently verify the payment asset and amount, destination, OP_RETURN payload, inputs, outputs, inscriptions, change address and network fee. A $BTC participation sends native bitcoin; a $ORDI participation transfers an eligible BRC-20 transfer inscription. Network fees are separate and are borne entirely by the User.

5. Quotes, allocation and protocol determination

A quote is informational, time-sensitive and not a reservation, guarantee or binding promise. Expected $leaf amounts are calculated using the Golden Curve and current indexed state. The final result depends on the transaction’s validity, ordering and confirmation, the Bitcoin chain accepted by the indexer, protocol rules, available supply and any chain reorganization.

The indexer’s deterministic interpretation of confirmed Bitcoin data governs the interface display. Delays, stale data, conflicting indexers or later reorganizations may cause a displayed quote, allocation, balance or activity record to differ from the eventual protocol state.

6. User custody, security and taxes

The User is exclusively responsible for wallet security, devices, backups, credentials, address control, UTXO and inscription selection, transaction review, fee selection and compliance with wallet-provider instructions. The User bears the consequences of compromised keys, malware, phishing, incompatible software, incorrect addresses, accidental inscription spends, insufficient fees and operational mistakes.

The User is solely responsible for identifying, reporting and paying all taxes, duties and charges arising from use of the interface or any acquisition, holding, transfer or disposal of digital assets.

7. No advice, solicitation or fiduciary relationship

All content is technical and informational. It is not investment, financial, legal, accounting, tax or other professional advice; it is not a personalized recommendation; and it is not intended as an offer or solicitation where such activity is unlawful. Nothing creates a fiduciary, agency, partnership, joint-venture or advisory relationship.

The User must perform independent due diligence, understand the protocol and consult qualified legal, tax and financial advisers before acting. Descriptions of mechanics, supply or the Golden Curve are not predictions of value or returns.

8. Third-party systems

The interface may depend on or link to wallets, browser extensions, Bitcoin infrastructure, indexers, APIs, explorers, hosting, content-delivery networks and social platforms. Those systems are controlled by third parties, may apply separate terms and may become unavailable or compromised. The Operator does not endorse and is not responsible for their acts, omissions, accuracy, security or availability.

9. Availability, modifications and discontinuation

To the extent permitted by law, the Operator may correct, update, restrict, suspend or discontinue the interface or any non-protocol feature without guaranteeing notice, continued compatibility or support. No website modification can undo a transaction already included in Bitcoin, and independent protocol participants may continue to interpret public chain data.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE INTERFACE AND ALL ASSOCIATED MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SECURITY, AVAILABILITY OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. NO RESULT, TOKEN VALUE, LIQUIDITY, COMPATIBILITY, CONFIRMATION TIME OR CONTINUED ACCESS IS GUARANTEED.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or statutory right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Limitation of liability and indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator and project contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive loss, or for loss of assets, value, opportunity, profits, data, access or private keys arising from the interface, a Bitcoin transaction, $leaf, $ORDI, a wallet, an indexer or any third-party service. Any liability that cannot be excluded is limited only to the extent the law permits; liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or another non-excludable matter is not limited.

To the extent legally enforceable, the User will indemnify the Operator and contributors against third-party claims arising from the User’s unlawful use, breach of these Terms or infringement of another person’s rights, except to the extent caused by a party seeking indemnification.

12. General provisions and contact

Mandatory laws and mandatory consumer rights remain applicable. Subject to them, disputes are to be submitted to the courts having jurisdiction under the applicable conflict-of-laws and procedural rules. If a provision is invalid, it is limited or severed only as necessary; the remaining provisions continue. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

The Operator may publish revised Terms for future use of the interface. Continued use after publication constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law; a revision does not retroactively alter a confirmed Bitcoin transaction. Questions or legal notices may be initiated through the official project channels linked on the homepage. Users should retain a copy of these Terms and the transaction information presented by their wallet.
